February Mumma's secret stash - Monthly recipes and farmer spotlight

Hey there

I’m Michelle ,  or as most people know me, One Hungry Mumma.

If you’ve found your way here, it means you’ve got your hands on one of our Mumma’s Secret Stash boxes, and that makes you part of something pretty special.

This little “stash” began as a way to share my passion for creating small batch condiments, pickles, sauces, and spice blends made right here in Finch Hatton, QLD, using as much local produce as possible.

For the past nine years, I’ve been crafting and selling my award-winning range of One Hungry Mumma products, all made by hand, in small batches, with love (and a good dose of local flavour). But I wanted to take things one step further.

That’s where Mumma’s Secret Stash was born.  A place where I can get a little creative and make seasonal, one-off products you won’t find anywhere else. Each box is designed to surprise and delight, with exclusive goodies made from what’s fresh, local, and inspiring me in the kitchen right now, along with a few of our favouites.

Each product tells a story , of our region, our growers, and the joy of homemade goodness. But more than that, it’s about connection.

Food connects us, to memories, to people, to place. Whether it’s the smell of something simmering away on the stove or the joy of discovering a new favourite flavour, I want this box to bring that same spark to your kitchen.

So each stash will be a little surprise, something seasonal, something handcrafted, and always something made with heart (and maybe a dash of mischief).

Eungella Chemical Free Garlic – A True Local Treasure

The first things that come to mind when I think of Eungella Chemical Free Garlic are family, commitment, hard work, quality… and of course, absolutely delicious flavour.

When Terry and Eloise first began growing their incredible elephant garlic on their farm tucked away in the lush rainforest surrounds of Eungella National Park, Queensland, back in 2000, I often wonder if they realised just how much of an impact their humble crop would one day have on our region.

Because this isn’t just garlic… this is the kind of produce that makes you stop mid-recipe and say, “Wow… that tastes amazing.”

Like all farming stories, it hasn’t been an easy road. Between unpredictable weather, tough seasons, and the constant demands of working the land, it’s been a hard slog — the kind that only people with true grit and passion can push through.

But the results speak for themselves.

Their garlic is grown chemical free, with care and pride in every bulb, and it’s become a staple for so many local cooks, businesses, and food lovers who appreciate produce that’s been grown the right way — with integrity, patience, and love.

We have been using Eungella Chemical Free Garlic since the commencement of our condiment range in 2016, and honestly… we haven’t looked back. Once you cook with garlic of this quality, there’s no going back to the bland supermarket stuff.

When a fresh shipment of garlic was dropped at my door by these wonderful farmers, the inspiration for this month’s Mumma’s Secret Stash Box was born.

This box is a true celebration of one of our favourite local ingredients — featuring our first ever sauce dedicated purely to garlic… our Good Garlic Sauce (not recommended on a first date!). And of course, our Mango Dressing also makes an appearance, showcasing not only our beautiful local mangoes, but the incredible depth of flavour that garlic brings when it’s grown with passion and care.

So this month, as you unpack your Mumma’s Secret Stash Box, I hope you take a moment to appreciate the story behind the flavour. Because every bulb of this garlic represents early mornings, muddy boots, rainforest air, and two hardworking farmers who have poured their heart into growing something truly special.

From our kitchen to yours — this box is all about big flavour, local pride, and celebrating the best our region has to offer.

Now go on… open that Good Garlic Sauce.

How to use The Good Garlic Sauce!

5 Ways to Use Good Garlic Sauce (and why it’s not first-date friendly!)

If you’ve opened your jar of Good Garlic Sauce and thought “Wow… this is GARLICY!” — then congratulations… you’ve just met the real deal.

This sauce isn’t here to play it safe. It’s bold, punchy, and packed with the kind of flavour that makes your tastebuds do a happy dance… but also makes you question whether you should be talking closely to anyone afterwards 🤭

So, if you’re wondering how to use it without overpowering your meal (or your marriage), here are a few of my favourite ways to enjoy it:

1. The Ultimate Garlic Aioli

Mix a spoonful of Good Garlic Sauce through mayonnaise with a squeeze of lemon.
Perfect for chips, wedges, burgers, wraps, or even a seafood platter.

2. Garlic Butter Heaven

Stir it through softened butter and spread it over crusty bread, melt it over steak, or toss it through hot roasted veggies.
Instant flavour upgrade.

3. BBQ Chicken Marinade

Add a small amount to olive oil and lemon juice, then marinate chicken before throwing it on the BBQ.
Simple, quick, and seriously delicious.

4. Roast Potato Toss

Once your potatoes are crispy and golden, toss them with a little Good Garlic Sauce and a drizzle of olive oil.
This one is dangerously addictive.

5. Creamy Pasta or Prawn Sauce

A teaspoon stirred into a creamy sauce brings the most beautiful depth of flavour.
Perfect with chicken, mushrooms, prawns… or anything that needs a little Mumma magic.

Mumma’s tip: start small, taste, then add more… because once you go too heavy-handed, there’s no going back

And remember… it’s called Good Garlic Sauce for a reason.

Just maybe save it for date night number two.

Cannonbee Honey

CannonBee | Organic Honey & Skincare Products

You simply can’t showcase Eungella without mentioning one of its sweetest treasures… Cannon Bee Honey.

Cannon Bee is a proud family-owned business, located deep in the lush subtropical rainforest of Eungella, Queensland — a region that forms part of the longest continual stretch of subtropical rainforest in Australia. It’s the kind of place where the air feels fresher, the greenery is endless, and nature truly does its best work.

Their journey into beekeeping began around a decade ago, starting humbly with just two hives and borrowed equipment, guided by a local gentleman with over 70 years of experience. Proof that sometimes the best stories begin the simplest way… with curiosity, passion, and a willingness to learn.

From those early days, Cannon Bee has grown into a much-loved local producer, creating beautiful honey that reflects the landscape it comes from — pure, golden, and full of flavour.

It’s more than honey… it’s Eungella in a jar.

This month I’ve included Cannon Bee’s Chilli Honey in your Mumma’s Secret Stash Box  and let me tell you… it is absolutely divine. Sweet, sticky, warming, and just the right amount of kick.

My favourite way to use it (and honestly, once you try it you’ll never go back) is to pan fry feta until golden, then drizzle it generously with hot chilli honey and finish it off with toasted pistachios. Serve it with crusty bread or crackers and you’ve got yourself the ultimate little appetiser that feels fancy but takes minutes to make.
